Terri's Dinner Celebration

Restaurant: Texas Roadhouse Grill

Location: El Pueblo

Specialty: Steaks

Posted by: Terri

The first time I decided to eat here with Mike, I was curious because Mike pointed out that a lot of foreigners dine out in this place (Mike happens to eat here first with his boss). However, that curiosity soon died out and gave way to love and understanding. Yes, I definitely fell head-over-heels in love with their tasteful mouth-watering steaks. Being a steak-lover, this resto has won a special place in my heart. No wonder even foreigners flock so frequently to this place.

To celebrate my new upcoming job this April, Mike and I dined out in this resto again for the third time--and it's my treat! Listed below are the food that we ordered.

Santa Fe nachos for starters, Flat Iron Steak with side dishes of potato salad and corn, Herb Jus Steak with side dishes of mashed potato and corn, and 2 bottomless drinks of Iced Tea and Lemonade.

Breakdown:

Price: Above Average - Total cost is around 1,400php (similar to Chili's)

Taste: Excellent -- you get your money's worth

Accessibility: The branch in El Pueblo is the only one we know

Store Ambience: Very nice and cozy with a touch of Texan cowboy flair (Yee-ha!)

Valentine's Food Trip

Restaurant: Oki Oki Japanese Restaurant
Location: Trinoma
Specialty: Japanese Food

In the words of patsilog - PAKSHET ang Feb 14! why is that? wtf naman kasi Terri and I couldn't find a place to eat on our regular weekend food trip. We planned to eat at Ruby Tuesday's and review the resto but it turned out that all restos in Trinoma have long waiting lists. Even the super expensive but not worth it Italianis had a waiting list.

So where di we end up? it seems Filipino and above average priced Japanese food don't mix, as we found a resto that had only 1 couple on their waiting list which already got seated as we stopped by.

So for the Valentine's Food trip Terri and I are going to review the Japanese resto called Oki Oki at Trinoma.

This is the second time we were going to eat at Oki Oki, first time we had Ramen, sushi and a rice bowl. Terri and I ordered alot this second time listed are the following hehehe:

5pcs Tempura, an order of Seafood Teppanyaki, 5pcs Steamed Dumpling, an order of Torikatsu, 2 bowls of Samurai Rice and 2 bottomless drinks.

This is the money shot right here:

Taob at Busog!!!!!

Breakdown:
Price: Above Average - Our total cost for the meal is 1,200 php without service charge - Cheap IMO
Taste: Really Really good Japanese food! their menu also covers almost all Japanese dishes.
Accessibility: trinoma branch is the only one I know
Store Ambience: looks like a typical Japanese resto although I can't say really. Very Clean.

Old Friends Food Trip

Terri and I met up with some old office friends ro catch up with each other. We ended up eating at a familiar place for me and Terri... Carlo's Pizza

My apologies as I dont have a facade shot of the place :(.

Restaurant: Carlo's Pizza
Location: Metrowalk
Specialty: Pizza and Pasta

Terri and I have eaten here a couple of times already and this is by far the best place to get our favorite fill of Chicken fingers, second olny to a place i've worked before whose resto served the best chicken fingers I've tasted.

Another reason why we go here is the Pesto Pizza, as far as I know this is the only place that has that kiind of pizza flavor.

On to the order... Since it's a barkada trip we ordered the standard Chicken Fingers, Pesto Pizza deal with Pasta Alfredo and Fish n Chips, also the usual bottomless Iced tea for all.

Breakdown:
Price: Average
Taste: Very Good (Chicken Fingers recommended for starters)
Accessibility: Metrowalk branch only afaik
Store Ambience: Very cozy nice couches

From Josephine's to Mexicali

Restaurant: Mexicali
Location: Trinoma
Specialty: Mexican Food

Terri and I had a busy Saturday morning. We had to attend a wedding which was held in Cavite at Josephine's Restaurant and Water Camp. We got there around 11am and left at around 3pm... The food was so so which I didn't bother to take note of or take pictures.

After a long drive home we went to Trinoma and got hungry...Perfect time for a food trip, hmmm we decided to go Mexican but didn't want the fast food watered down taste of Taco Bell so the best place was - Mexicali.

Mexicali is like Wham or Brothers burger there is to Mcdonalds and Jollibee compared to Taco Bell. Hmmm i think that made sense.
On to the food. We got Burrito regular size a Taco and an order of Jalapeno and Cheese Quesadillas, of course bottomless Iced tea and Lemonade all for 300+ pesos not badhuh? a little extra paid for better taste compared to Taco Bell. (Why do I sound like a Taco bell hater? hmmm...)

Breakdown:
Price: Average 300 to 500 pesos for 2 people.
Taste: Better tasting than Taco Bell.
Accessibility: Trinoma and SM north The Block are th only branches I have visited.
Store Ambience: Nice but small.

Monthsary!

So Jan 12 is our monthsary just 1 month shy of being together for 4 years woahhhh!. So Terri and I agreed to visit Chilli's.

Restaurant name: Chilli's
Location: Tomas Morato
Specialty: Famliy Resto (I'll explain this later)

I've only been to Chilli's 3 times while
it's Terri's 5th visit.  Chilli's is what I classify
as a family resto where their menu caters to each person in the family - Daddy gets to choose whatever steak he wants, Mom can order a good salad, Ate and Kuya can get their fill of chicken or seafood and the kids get to order burgers and ice cream for dessert. So a jammed pack menu for everyone whatever they are craving for.

For Me and Terri our craving goes for an order of Blackened rib eye steak with mashed potates and brocolli . Second is an order of Monterey chicken with mashed potatoes and the some veggies - I forgot to have the mashed potatoes changed to a rife pillaf but hey it still tastes good.
Bottomless Iced tea and Lemonade is our drinks for tonight. We wanted to get some startes but the serving was just to much for 2 people so we opted just for the 2 dishes.

A great tasting meal for a good price is just what we needed for this occasion.

Breakdown:
Price: Occasional 1000 Pesos and Up price range( means for Terri and Me we only eat here when there's an occasion haha)
Taste: You get what you paid for - and we paid 1100 pesos and got it's worth.
Accessibility: There are only 3 Chilli's branches the other 2 are at Greenbelt and Greenhills.
Store Ambience: Family oriented veri nice and well lit. There's a bar also.

1st Pick...

Terri and I love Italian Food... Pasta, Pizza and the like, so for our first review it's going to be our favorite Italian place...

Restaurant name: a Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante
Location: Trinoma
Specialty: Italian Food

We come here often to get our fill of good pasta and the like... why do we come here instead of the other known places? well 2 reasons - 1 they have a good selection of Pasta and 2 the place has good prices.

A order of pasta will cost you around
240 pesos which is good for 2 hungry people (hungry meaning no breakfast and lunch) or 3-4 regular people having pasta and a Large size pizza.

Pizza is ok lot of good flavors - try out puttanesca pizza if your adventurous.

Our standard order consists of pasta either oil and garlic, pesto, white sauce or red sauce. A chicken appetizer chilli wings or buffalo. Pizza or Calzone and bottomless drinks ( Bottomless Iced tea costs around 65 pesos).

For today our order starts with onion rings,1 slice of cheeseburger pizza and 1 slice of special pizza.

Our main dish is the special Seafood pasta with Asparagus (White sauce with a touch of Curry powder)

An entire meal... a very good meal will usually cost anywhere from 500 to 700 pesos for 2 hungry people or around 1k for 3-4 people. Not bad if you want good tasting italian food - better than Don Henricos, Chef D' Angelo and Sbarro which are restos in the same Price Range (Terri and I have some other Italian Restos to hit next like Roma Mia and Carlos Pizza those places are good too.)

Breakdown:
Price: Average - in the 500 to 1000 peso range for 2 people.
Taste: Excellent if you consider the the price (compared to Italianis - will try to eat here again just for review sake)
Accessibility: Trinoma and Visayas Ave. Branches are those that I am aware of.
Store Ambience: Very nice and Cozy.
